Babylon the Great … Positively Identified

Who is “Babylon the Great” in Revelation?
100% Jerusalem
——

Revelation 17:5-6
And on her forehead was written a name of mystery: “Babylon the great, mother of prostitutes and of earth’s abominations.” And I saw the woman, drunk with the blood of the saints, the blood of the martyrs of Jesus. When I saw her, I marveled greatly.

Matthew 23
“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you build the tombs of the prophets and decorate the monuments of the righteous, saying, ‘If we had lived in the days of our fathers, we would not have taken part with them in shedding the blood of the prophets.’ Thus you witness against yourselves that you are sons of those who murdered the prophets. Fill up, then, the measure of your fathers. You serpents, you brood of vipers, how are you to escape being sentenced to hell? Therefore I send you prophets and wise men and scribes, some of whom you will kill and crucify, and some you will flog in your synagogues and persecute from town to town, so that on you may come all the righteous blood shed on earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah the son of Barachiah, whom you murdered between the sanctuary and the altar. Truly, I say to you, all these things will come upon this generation. “O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to it! How often would I have gathered your children together as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you were not willing! See, your house is left to you desolate.”

Luke 13:33
Nevertheless, I must go on my way today and tomorrow and the day following, for it cannot be that a prophet should perish away from Jerusalem.’ O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to it!

Revelation 11:8
and their dead bodies will lie in the street of the great city that symbolically is called Sodom and Egypt, where their Lord was crucified.

Revelation 18:24
“And in her was found the blood of prophets and of saints, and of all who have been slain on earth.”

Revelation 18:16-19
“Alas, alas, for the great city that was clothed in fine linen, in purple and scarlet, adorned with gold, with jewels, and with pearls! For in a single hour all this wealth has been laid waste.”

Revelation 19:2
“for his judgments are true and just; for he has judged the great prostitute who corrupted the earth with her immorality, and has avenged on her the blood of his servants.”

——
Makes perfect sense, doesn’t it? Rome is the 4th kingdom of Daniel, Revelation was written during the reign of the 6th king of the Roman Empire, Jerusalem is Babylon the Great that is responsible for the blood of the prophets and is destroyed, and it all happened to the generation Jesus predicted it would happen within before some of his disciples tasted death, and before they had made it through all the towns of Israel.
——

Daniel 9
“Seventy weeks are decreed about your people and your holy city, to finish the transgression, to put an end to sin, and to atone for iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal both vision and prophet, and to anoint a most holy place. Know therefore and understand that from the going out of the word to restore and build Jerusalem to the coming of an anointed one, a prince, there shall be seven weeks. Then for sixty-two weeks it shall be built again with squares and moat, but in a troubled time. And after the sixty-two weeks, an anointed one shall be cut off and shall have nothing. And the people of the prince who is to come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary. Its end shall come with a flood, and to the end there shall be war.”

——
This is why Jesus could say “to fulfill all that is written” when He was looking at HEROD’S temple during His Olivet discourse, QUOTING Daniel … and predicting the consummation of the age!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (NOT the end of the cosmos)

Is there room for dual fulfillment? Maybe? Was it fulfilled once at a minimum? Absolutely. Is there eternal application either way? You better believe it!
