Sheol/Hades/Tartarus are all similar, depending on who’s talking and who’s going, also known as:
Pit of Nothingness
Bottomless Pit
Place of the dead
Underworld
Center of the Earth
Dust
Darkness
Grave
Depths
Unconsciousness
This is where all dead, believers and unbelievers, went before Christ’s sacrifice (specifically His death). This is also where the angels who sinned were sentenced to go until the day of judgment at the time of the end (not the end of time)
At the seventh trumpet … believers, including David, were removed from Hades, along with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and went to sit at God’s table in heaven/paradise, where Jesus and everyone who died after his death already was (the one’s who had participated in the “first resurrection”)
Then after believers were resurrected to Heaven/Paradise/Abraham’s Table/Throneroom of God … that’s when Sheol/Hades/Tartarus and all unbelievers remaining within were tossed into:
The Lake of Fire/Hell/Gehenna … the place of eternal flame, punishment, and torment
Today when people die, the judgment happens immediately. You do not pass go, do not collect $200, you are immediately seen as you are and pronounced “guilty” and sent to hell/gehenna/lake of fire … or … seen innocent, covered by the blood of the lamb, and get to stay with Jesus in heaven If you have trusted in Him as your Savior.
