Futurist Don’t Want to Admit the Obvious: the 4th Kingdom of Daniel Included 1st-Century Rome

The Kingdoms of Daniel’s Prophecy that exercised DOMINION over the people of God.

1. Babylonian

(1st, Gold, Lion, Nebuchadnezzar the Great)

539 BC >

2. Medo-Persian

(2nd, Silver, Bear, Cyrus the Great, etc.)

… 331 BC >

3. Grecian

(3rd, Bronze, Leopard, Alexander The Great)

… 37 BC >

5. Roman-Judean

(4th, Iron/Clay, Different, Herod the Great)

The denial by many Christians that Rome and Judea are implicated by the Iron & the Iron/Clay of the toes of Daniel 2’s statue is rooted in “Wantatology,” not eschatology.

They desire a future physcial/material/observable kingdom that Christ said is NOT coming (Luke 17:20-21) … and this clouds their common sense and logic.

The iron kingdom follows Greece. The iron kingdom is greater than the previous three. The iron/clay feet become brittle, mixing in marriage. This happened with the Herodian Dynasty. The stone cut from no human hand (spiritual, Christ, cornerstone) strikes the FEET of the statue, and brings its dominion over God’s people (Christians) to an end. Notice as well in Daniel 7, the 4th beast tramples the land (Judea) with its FEET. First-Century Judea was dominated by the Herodian dynasty. The eschatological events of the Bible were to happen with the 4th kingdom of Daniel. The Kingdom was launch in the 1st century.
